Look around. There are signs everywhere HELP WANTED. I don't think there's a lack of workers. I think there is a lack of workers because they are fed up getting treated like crap from customers/clients and management. Workers are sick of slaving away for a pittance with skimpy benefits. Workers are sick of whining, entitled customers who are always trying to get something for nothing, and then treating workers as sub-human in the process. Workers are sick of management citing production and sales numbers at the end of the quarter to appease the stock holders.
It's an unsanctioned strike.
