Still Confused

I'm still confused about what's happening with "the virus."  There is a push to reopen schools and states are seeing a drop in cases and lifting restrictions, but there are variants of the virus that are supposedly more contagious and deadly and also resistant to vaccines.  These new variants also infect those who have already had it.  

2 + 2 is not = 4.  Something is rotten in Denmark, as we are not getting the whole story.

Is the reopening of everything purely for economic reasons?   Is it because politicians are taking heat?  Is it because parents are losing their minds because they actually have to take care and responsibility of the lives they created? 

Yes, I'm being snarky.  

Somehow, I'm numb to the doomsday predictions the media feeds us.  Could it be that the gas shortage of the 70's was pure media manipulation?  Could it be that the whole Y2K was complete media infused fear?

.....then they wonder why we don't trust them (meaning the government and the media).
