Boris the Spider

OK.... I'm going to go back to the 70's for a bit.  Way back in the day, the STONE age (get it????) I remember being with one of my Minnesota besties, JLB, and her older sister.  JLB's older sister had a boyfriend who had Bing Bong.  Yes, it was marijuana paraphernalia, and we used it shamelessly.  We would use Bing Bong and the inevitable munchies would ensue.

Now what.

We get in the car (please, refrain from judgement) and make the trek to Aunt ChiChi's for a cheese chilito or whatever Mexican junk food we could get our paws on given this was Minnesota the land of Scandinavian and Germanic foodstuffs.  We had no idea what real Mexican food really was.  Anyway........While we were making the trek to Aunt ChiChi's, we would listen to The Who on an 8-trek.  Millennials, do you know WTF that is?  Whatever.  Anyway, we were under the influence of a certain plant that is now legal in some states happily listening to The Who on 8-trak enroute to munchie heaven.  One song that we listened to over and over again was 'Boris the Spider.'  For whatever reason, we found that song hilarious and loved the creeepy-crawwwly-creepy-creepy-crawwwwwly-crawwwwly-creepy-creepy-crawwwwly-crawwwly.

So.....fast forward 40 years.  We now have a pet spider right here at our home in Sonoma County who lives on our deck out back.  He has spun his web.  My son feeds him flies.  My daughter wants to kill him.  The spider's name is Boris - in honor of my fond memories.  Here's both a picture of the spider and the song.  Enjoy.

....and here's my Boris the Spider
