 I think my son said it best the other day when he was up here visiting from San Jose.  We were outside in the backyard basking in the sounds, sights and smells of a Sonoma County December afternoon.  The hummingbird feeders were abuzzzzzz with humming birds dive bombing each other, chirping, and getting their fill.  The hummingbirds are almost tame around my son and I. 

My son and I were talking about life and society.   We both did not have our cell phones anywhere near us.  It was so peaceful.  We had a long conversation.  Nothing was beeping nor pinging demanding we stop what we were doing to pay attention to what others want from us.  

That's when my son said it.  He said, "I'm so over everything jumping up and down flashing, waving and demanding my attention." 

Wow.  Anti-technology attitudes coming from from a millennial.  A millennial who lives in in the technology mecca of Silicon Valley at that.  

Even they have had enough.  

Silicon Valley Sweat Shops - The "Start Ups"

I suspect another tech bubble that will burst in the not-too-distant future.  There is this little game going on called "the start up."  The little Start Ups have one objective and that is to create their product or app and sell it to Google or some other tech monstrosity/monopoly.  However, in order for the start up game to work, they must recruit technology savvy talent and use them as slave labor.  Unfortunately, this game is nothing more than a glorified sweat shop.

The Start Up preys on those thinking they will strike it rich in Silicon Valley.  They solicit young, ambitious people to work 40 hours at poverty wages.  The Start Up dangles the carrot in front of the slave workforce of how their app/product is going to be the next big thing.  The slaves are then coerced into working another 20 hours per week pro bono to "take one for the team" and are given promises of getting their fair share and then some when they sell to Google.

We all know how the story ends.  The slaves never get their fair share.  Part of the reason why the tech industry is trying to convince everybody on the shortage of workers  in computer sciences is because those in the United States and other First World countries have figured out the Start Ups burn 'em and churn 'em game.  There is PLENTY of tech talent right here at home.  They just are reluctant to be used.  That's why the tech industry is crying for imports from China and India falsly claiming a workforce shortage.  Start Ups just don't want to pay a living wage.

The New iPhone

Today I was up at the crack of dawn to attend a meeting in San Leandro.  While I was washing the sleep out of my eyes, I turned on the morning television news.  What a mistake.  All I heard over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again was about the idiots camped out awaiting the release of the newest iPhone version .  They had been standing in line for two days.  I doubt they even have jobs.  Just how in the hell do unemployed losers afford $500 iPhones?  No matter.  They will cry in extra pain on cue when examined by the workers' compensation designated doctor to maximize their settlement. 

Anyway....that's not the rant I'm going to go off on today....

When the KTVU Norman Neet the Man on the Street interviewed the workers' compensation/welfare milkers as to exactly WHY they were standing in line for the newest iPhone the answers ranged from:

1.  The new iPhone has fingerprint scanning technology to authenticate internet purchases;
2.  The new iPhone has voice recognition software to authenticate ownership making the digital passcode obsolete;
3.  The new iPhone has retinae scan capability to make sure your Facebook posts are really your own.

OK..... I live near Silicon Valley and deal with their techno-bullshit on a daily basis.  This is my simpleton approach.... why not just have the iPhone suppository micro chip inserted into your ASS as you want to track and account for every phone call, email, text message, internet purchase, facebook post, twitter update, music download, video upload, blah, blah, blah, blah.........

You dumb fuckers are standing IN LINE to have Big Brother track your every move.  Dumb shits.  You all need to develop filters and limits to this modern day wonder...
